The last time Kevin and Janessa were behind my lens they were tying the knot (view their wedding blog post here). I was thrilled to hear from them that they have a little one on the way and would like to have some maternity portraits taken. I was real happy with the shoot and Riverfront Park in Spokane, along with the downtown area provided some real nice backdrops to work with. Thanks Janessa and Kevin for giving me the opportunity work with you again, and congrats on becoming parents soon!
Andrew and Jamie brought me out to one of my favorite areas in this state — McCall, Idaho. Not only does this town share the same name as yours truly, it is one of the most scenic slices of land in the entire Pacific Northwest.
The wedding screamed Idaho, and reminded me of why I love calling this state home.
Congrats guys; it was a privilege documenting your day!
Jake and Mariah’s wedding at the Hayden Lake Country Club was spectacular. Awesome couple, beautiful venue, blue skies and great company and made it one for the books. Thanks for having me along Jake and Mariah, and congrats!
Erik + Katie’s wedding brought me back once again to the historic Mukogawa Chapel in Spokane Washington. I love documenting a ceremony in an old building such as this that is rich in history and architecture. It was an excellent way to kick off the summer wedding season and I would gladly be back for another one at this beautiful venue, especially for clients as awesome as these two! I also believe Katie got the most unique wedding band I’ve seen on a groom’s hand! Cheers Katie and Erik, thanks for having me along!
Brian + Kristin are an awesome couple from Liberty Lake, Washington who will be tying the knot in Sandpoint this September. I had the pleasure of stomping around downtown Coeur d’Alene with them to document their engagement session. I love living in Coeur d’Alene because there’s such a great variety of areas to shoot at within walking distance from downtown. I took my first ever handstand engagement photos with these two which was pretty rad too. I can’t wait to document their big day in a few months!
My last wedding of the year was right in my backyard — beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Ron and Kari tied the knot at the old Fort Sherman Chapel, constructed in the late 1800s. I love the character of old buildings like this one.
The ceremony followed at the White House Event Center on Sherman. It was great to be able to use some of the fall colors in the background of a few of the portraits. The White House, another historic building in Coeur d’Alene, has great decor inside and out and worked out awesome for photos. Even though it was a fairly small group of mostly family, there were countless moments I was able to grab with my cameras. From dancing to laughing to an intense bouquet toss, there were plenty of moments to keep my happy and busy behind my viewfinder.
Kari and Ron were awesome people to share the day with and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the 2012 wedding year. Congrats guys!
It feels good to be back home.
Well, I didn’t just get back from a trip or antything, but this last month has brought me to Montana every weekend for weddings, so it was sort of nice to drive a quick 45 minutes to be on location for Dustin and Alex’s big day. I had the pleasure to shoot these guys’ engagement session earlier this summer (well in May, actually. It’s crazy how fast time flies.)
The ceremony took place in a great little backyard of Dustin’s Aunt’s North Spokane home. I really enjoy the feeling that a location at a home provides for both preparation and ceremony shots. Just a bunch of family and friends at a down-to-earth wedding on a beautiful day in the Inland Northwest. I have to say, it feels nice to not be shooting in 90+ degree weather as most of the August weddings had been.
The reception followed at the German-American Society in Downtown Spokane. We were able to sneak out for a few quick portraits around the couple surrounding blocks. It’s always great to see the reactions from others when you go trucking around a city with a bride and groom.
Another awesome wedding in the books. Thank you Dustin and Alex for being such awesome people to spend such an important day with. Wish you to an awesome life together!
I take off Tuesday for a destination wedding in Hawaii. I’m a little excited. A very tropical blog post will be coming your way soon.
